Microsoft Ads
When someone clicks your Microsoft Advertising ad, run on Bing, Yahoo, and the Microsoft Search Network, and lands on your site, ZenTalk can show your team and your AI agent the exact keyword that brought them in, right on the visitor profile. It is the same rich acquisition detail you already get for Google and Meta ads, tuned for how Microsoft works.
How Microsoft ad tracking works
Microsoft Advertising runs on keywords, just like Google, so the useful signal is the search term that triggered your ad. Microsoft auto tagging only adds its own opaque click id, called msclkid. That id does not contain the keyword, the campaign name, or the ad. To surface the keyword you add a small tracking setting in your Microsoft account, and from then on every paid click carries the intent with it.
See what a visitor searched for
Knowing a visitor searched for something like self publishing services lets your bot and your agents open with the exact intent instead of a cold greeting. This needs one small setting in Microsoft Advertising, because Microsoft does not pass the keyword on its own. It is a one time setup.
- In Microsoft Advertising open Settings, then Account level options, and find the Tracking template or Final URL suffix field. This is also available per campaign under that campaign's settings.
- In the Final URL suffix box paste: utm_term={keyword}&mt={matchtype}&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc
- Save. From the next click onward every paid Microsoft visit carries the matched keyword in the landing URL, and ZenTalk stamps it on the visitor automatically. No change is needed on the ZenTalk side.
The {keyword} and {matchtype} values are Microsoft dynamic parameters, the same ValueTrack style tokens Google uses. Microsoft swaps in the real matched keyword and match type at click time, so you do not type them yourself.
What you will see on the visitor
Open any Microsoft visitor in the Inbox side panel or the Visitors profile and the Acquisition section shows:
- Network: shown as Microsoft Ads, so your team knows the traffic source at a glance.
- Keyword: the matched keyword you are bidding on that triggered the ad.
- Match type: broad, phrase, or exact, decoded from the match type token.
- Campaign: the campaign that ran the ad, when your suffix includes it.
- Click ID: the msclkid, kept verbatim for your own reconciliation.
The same keyword then powers the Keyword Revenue P&L report, tying each Microsoft keyword to the revenue it produced, right alongside your Google keywords in one view.
